ROMANCE and magic will fill the air at Wanstead Park on Saturday, as Illyria bring their internationally award-winning production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to the grounds of The Temple.
Renowned for their dynamic and lively performances, Illyria will re-tell the classic story of the mischievous Puck and the bizarre consequences of his careless mishandling of a love-potion in this beautiful, atmospheric setting.
Chairman of the Epping Forest Committee Barbara Newham at the City of London says: “Illyria always delivers the highest standards of entertainment and I am delighted they are returning again to Wanstead Park this year. I am sure it will be a magical evening of fun for both young and old.”
The perfect spot for an open-air production, visitors are invited to bring along a picnic blanket and explore the gardens of the Grade 2 listed building during the interval.
And should the predictable British weather threaten to make an appearance, just remember to bring your umbrella, because Illyria will play on regardless.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream comes to Wanstead Park on Saturday, June 20, 6pm. Tickets are available from Epping Forest Visitor Centre 020 8508 0028 or visit www.illyria.uk.com Tickets: £4.55 or £9.95.
