A HIGHAMS PARK school for visually impaired children has been given a new mini bus worth more than £30,000.
Estate agents Kings Group and the Openwork Foundation donated a total of £32,000 for the new bus, given to Joseph Clarke School, in Vincent Road.
The director of the group, Chris Bramham, was inspired to make the donation by a neighbour's son, who is a pupil at the school.
He said: “We are delighted to have been able to support the school since every time I have visited it, I have been totally inspired by the children and their level of achievement thanks to the work and dedication of the staff.
“Despite their disabilities, their enthusiasm for life is infectious and we just know that the mini-bus will bring more fun and adventure into their school curriculum.”
The bus is fitted with a special tail lift to accommodate wheelchair users and staff and pupils celebrated the donation on June 19.
