SPECIAL guest Scoobie Doo opened a school summer fete much to the delight of all the children.
The cartoon character turned up unannounced to surprise visitors and declare the event at Epping Primary school on St John's Road officially open.
Parents, staff and pupils were entertained by the school choir, a performance from the karate team, a craft stall with plate painting for Father's Day, and 'beat the keeper' run by the school's caretaker.
There was also a beer tent for the adults while children sang their hearts out on the karaoke.
PTA Chair Karen Tait helped organise the day and said: "The town mayor came along and even did some apply bobbing. It was very well attended and we have had so many texts and emails from people saying it was the best fete they have ever been to."
Money raised from the day will go towards equipment for the new school building which opens next year on Coronation Hill.
Mrs Tait said: "We would like to say thank you to everyone who helped organise it and all the local businesses who supported us. And of course, all the teachers, children and parents who came along."
