AT LEAST one pharmacy in Redbridge has been identified to dispense anti-swine flu drugs after the virus hit a third school in the borough.
Specific pharmacies in every London borough have been identified to stock drugs like Tamiflu as the total number of cases in the capital rose to 528, NHS London said.
At least one student at Woodbridge High School, in St Barnabas Road, Woodford Green, has caught the virus and a text message has been sent to all parents informing them of the situation.
Cases of swine flu have also been confirmed at Snaresbrook Primary School, in Wanstead, and Wells Primary School, in Woodford Green.
Woodford Bridge is the first secondary school found to have a case.
A spokesman for NHS London said: "All Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) in London have identified at least one pharmacy in their borough that is stocked ready with anti-viral drugs for people to collect when instructed to do so by their GP.
"GPs will clinically assess people with flu-like symptoms to determine who needs treatment and if so issue a prescription for antiviral treatment on the spot. This prescription can then be exchanged for anti-viral drugs at the nearest designated pharmacy."
NHS London also urged people to stay calm and asked them not to restrict their normal movement unless advised by a GP.
