A SPECIAL needs school is celebrating a double triumph after it received a national award and a glowing Ofsted report.
Oak View School, in Whitehills Road, Loughton, has been awarded an Autism Accreditation Certificate from the National Autism Society recognising the provision it supplies to people with the condition.
The award came soon after the school received an Ofsted report offering praise for the “Significant improvement since the last inspection.”
The report continued: “Pupils’ development is good and parents and pupils alike feel that this is a lovely school where every child is valued and nurtured.”
Headteacher Sandra Winter said: “This is a tremendous achievement for staff and pupils. To gain both autism accreditation and such a favourable report form Ofsted in the same year is particularly encouraging and is well deserved by the whole team."
Oak View caters for pupils from 4-19 with a wide range of special needs including autism.
