GLAMOUR model and keen horsewoman Katie Price has been announced as the patron for this years star-studded event at Gaynes Park, Coopersale on July 4.

The annual charity event attracts thousands of spectators, to the friendly match between the Great British Polo squad and the Argentine national team.

It also gives normal folk the chance to rub shoulders with Rod Stewart, Penny Lancaster, Danny Dyer, Simon Webbe, Danielle Lloyd, Caprice, Duncan James and Anthony Costa amongst others.

Aside from celeb-spotting it also gives many people the chance to see world class polo up close.

Katie Price said: “I would really like to shatter the image of Polo as an elitist sport. It does take an enormous amount of skill and courage to ride a Polo pony in a competitive match, but it should be open to everyone to enjoy a great day like this, as well as raise a lot of money for charity."

"I am really proud to have my name associated with The Duke of Essex Polo Trophy.”

This year those willing to splash out extra for VIP tickets will also enjoy a three course meal courtesy of legendary Chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, a fashion show, live entertainment and Champagne.

Theres also plenty on offer for those with a more modest budget, family tickets include access to a large funfair, quad bikes, skydivers, helicopter trips, aircraft dogfights, military marching bands as well as the match itself.

A VIP all day ticket costs £150.

A pre-booked family fun day ticket costs from £10 per adult (16 and over) and children (5-15 years) £5 in advance.
