A WANSTEAD charity set up by two london cab drivers has been given a much needed boost by the Vodafone Foundation.
Since February, many charities have submitted requests for funding to their local Vodafone store, which offer grants to ensure a positive difference is made to the lives of young people in the area.
Wanstead Charity Dail-a-Dream, which strives to make the dreams of children aged between three and 18 years suffering with terminal illnesses become a reality, have been lucky enough to receive £4,000.
Set up by two London cab drivers, Tom Whitbread and Bob Heath, Dial-a-Dream takes its name London's premier licensed taxi operator, Dial-a-cab, who have also generously supported the charity by granting the duo access to office facilities and a computer when they first set up.
Stuart Jordan, Regional Store Manager for Vodafone, said: “I am delighted that we are able to contribute to Dial-a-Dream’s work and help young people in the area.
“It is inspiring to see just what the charity can achieve locally.
"We all believe our contribution will help make a difference to young people in London.”
