A PROTEST march is to be held to speak out against job cuts and rising unemployment among young people.
Campaign group Youth Fight for Jobs called the demonstration, to begin at Waltham Forest College on July 4 and finishing with a rally in Walthamstow town square.
School, college and university students will speak and march with trade unionists and community activists, with the backing of unions including Unite and Unison.
Ben Robinson, of Walthamstow, who is the chair of Youth Fight for Jobs said: “It is a disgrace that our generation is not being offered a decent future.
“There are people finishing school, college and university now who are going to really struggle to get any kind of job.
“They are condemned to join the hundreds already signing on. Unless we take a stand and fight back, this is all that is on offer.”
A public meeting will also be held on July 9 from 7.30pm at the William Morris Centre, Greenleaf Road, Walthamstow to discuss the campaign.
