The final plans to redevelop the current St John's School site with a new development of 149 flats and a new school on green belt land have been met with mixed reactions by residents. The scheme has been in the planning for over a decade, but has only just been formally submitted to the district council following a public consultation. Resident Mr Rob Thompson from Bury Road said he thought this was the best outcome for both groups. He said:" It's already been given outline planning permission, so this is a bit of a foregone conclusion.
