REDBRIDGE Police have seized nearly a hundred weapons after a month-long knife amnesty in Ilford.
Officers from Loxford Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) collected a total of 92 knives and blades, as well as a knuckle duster, over the four-week period.
The amnesty was part of the council-led 'Big Clean Up' project in the borough.
Sgt David Somerville, of the Loxford SNT, said: "We would like to thank the council for giving us this opportunity as well as everybody who gave us items for safe destruction.
"It is satisfying to know that the people of Loxford share our concerns over knife crime."
