THE University of East London (UEL) has won an award for the quality of its business teaching and advice services.
The university's Knowledge Dock centre, at its Docklands campus, was highly commended for its marketing skills and costumer focus at the Docklands Business Club and East London Chamber of Commerce Awards.
Len Shackleton, UEL business school dean said: “It is vital that we prepare our students for the world of work and give them the competitive edge they need to secure employment in a recession.
“By engaging them in interesting, business focused tasks we are boosting their confidence and improving their awareness of how businesses operate, the challenges they face and the skills needed to take on these challenges.”
The awards, in Bow, were attended by more than 200 leading business representatives.
