WEALTHY American socialite Tracy Lord finds herself torn between a jealous ex-husband, a somewhat bland fiancé and a roving reporter on the eve of her wedding night in Cole Porter’s witty musical High Society, which comes to the Kenneth More Theatre next week.
Presented by the College Amateur Operatic Society (CAOS), who celebrate their 70th anniversary this year, the production includes a score of popular show tunes to get your head bobbing along to, such as It Was Just One of Those Things and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
CAOS Chairman Doreen Harding says: “I recommend this toe-tapping musical to anybody. The dialogue is wonderfully witty, and the music is simply show-stopping too! We know that audience members will enjoy it with us.”
High Society will be at the Kenneth More Theatre, Ilford from Wednesday, July 8, until Saturday, July 11, 7.45pm (Saturday matinee, 3pm). Tickets: 020 8553 4466 or www.kenneth-more-theatre.co.uk
