A PRIMARY school has finally received funding for an urgently-needed expansion.
St Saviour's School, in Verulam Avenue, Walthamstow, has agreed to take on an extra 210 pupils by 2013, but teachers and governors were angry that promised funding for new buildings had not materialised.
The council initially said it did not receive enough funding from the Government, but it has now found the cash.
Members of the authority's planning committee on Tuesday granted permission for a temporary two-storey mobile building to be built on land currently occupied by an adventure playground, behind garages in Tudor Court.
An alternative proposal, to build on the school's playing field, was refused permission.
