EXTRA playtime and a tug-of-war session at assembly where the first decrees of Daiglen School's new headteacher: ten-year-old Joe Klein.
Joe gained the right to be head for the day after successfully winning the prize at the Buckhurst Hill School's PTA Dinner and Dance.
His first rule in charge was an extra 15 minutes at break, which made him particularly popular with his fellow classmates.
As part of his prize, Joe was also allowed to only sit in the lessons he wanted to while the rest of the time he was free to hand out marks to other classes.
He finished the day with a meeting with the chair of the PTA.
Deputy head Tim French said: “I think he had a great time. He certainly had a very good day. His younger brother was also with him throughout the day as a kind of deputy head, my position, which he seemed to think involved watching TV and drinking Coke.”
