A NEW religious sculpture was unveiled this week at St Johns School, in Epping.
Artist-in-residence Philip Melling helped a group of students to design and make the sculpture which represents the faith and spirituality behind the Tower Road-based Church of England school.
After researching spiritual ideas, the pupils used metalwork tools to cut their designs from plate steel.
Mr Melling said: “The project was part of the schools initiative to develop the school’s identity, and relationship with its foundations.
“Once completed the artwork was installed in the school’s main hall, where it can be enjoyed by all of the schools staff and students.”
