A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with an acid attack and double stabbing in Leytonstone.
Police arrested the 18-year-old man in Waltham Forest yesterday morning (Saturday).
The victim, a 24-year-old Danish national of Asian background, is still fighting for his life in hospital.
He is currently in a coma.
The man could lose his sight if he survives.
He was walking along Marchant Road when he was approached by a group.
They threw acid over him causing him serious burns to his face and chest, before stabbing him twice in the back.
The gang were reportedly wearing masks and gloves so they would not be burnt by the acid.
He managed to escape his attackers and raise the alarm and an ambulance was called.
Police are keeping an open mind about the motive.
Officers are appealling for witnesses and information about the attack which happened at about 2am on Thursday, July 2.
