SCENES from a film about a 'Muslim Homer Simpson' character who discovers he is really Jewish were shot at Chingford Assembly Hall.
Starring stand-up comedian Omid Djalili and West Wing actor Richard Schiff, Infidel is a British comedy written by David Baddiel.
Crew and actors gathered over the weekend at the Station Road venue, where a wedding scene was shot.
Despite the film being described as a 'feelgood comedy', it tackles the serious issue of prejudice against British Muslims.
Describing the lead character to Channel Four News, Baddiel said: "I describe him in the script as a 'Homer Simpson Muslim'.
"The plot involves his son has just married into a religious family. They need him to be a good Muslim and he's never really been that.
"I was interested in a body swap movie."
Omid Djalili, a Muslim, is due to take over the role of the Jewish Fagin in the London stage version of Oliver.
