A WALTHAM Abbey family took part in a 10k run around Lee Valley Park this weekend, after they supported her Autistic son.
Mia Bradley, her sons Robin, 19 and Charlie, 17, her daughter Molly, 13 from Gilsland, Waltham Abbey all took part in the sponsored race to help raise cash for Autism Anglia.
Although most people would consider a 10k run a challenge, for Robin, who is severely Autistic, it was even more difficult.
Robin's Autism means he is frightened by loud noises, has difficulty communicating and is easily upset.
His mother Mia said: "It was very tough, we had to keep stopping every ten minutes."
"I do a lot of running, but this is only Robin's second run and the world seems like a very scary place to him, so we're all very proud of him."
Alongside the other members of the family, Robin overcame his fears and finished the course in just 69 minutes.
The family also raised just over £200 for Autism Anglia, which helped to find Robin a place in the specialist Boucecroft School in Colchester.
Mia thanked everyone who supported the team, saying: "everyone was so generous, we do somethng for Autism Anglia every year and I'm always amazed at how many people give year on years, so thankyou."
