TALENTED pupils at a Wanstead secondary school got a chance to grill a Guardian reporter as part of a day making their own newspaper.
Year seven children at Wanstead High School are today making their own 'Medieval Messenger' about all the exciting activities they have been doing in their classes.
Guardian reporter Daniel Binns came down to the school this morning to talk about his job and give advice on writing articles.
One pupil, 12-year-old Angus Bloch, said: "I'm looking forward to getting experience today on what it is like to be a journalist.
"The subjects that we have been studying have been interesting and captivating, and I have learnt a thorough amount on medieval ways."
Angus, who is doing an article for the paper about a school re-enactment event that took place yesterday, added: "I thought it was really exciting seeing the armour and the objects that they used back then and the difference in designs compared to today."
Pupils will be writing about their lessons in medieval music, art, games, writing and more.
Reporter Daniel said: "The children have been very well behaved so far and it's been interesting to meet them and to find out what they've been up to."
