A CHEF has been chosen from hundreds to represent Great Britain at a food festival in Spain.
Habibur Rahman Chowdhury from Bengal Spice on Forest Road in Loughton was picked by judges from Curry Life Magazine to take his dishes to Madrid's International British Fusion Food Festival this month.
Held in Madrid's top three Indian Restaurants, the chef will create a menu of fusion food and design special dishes for the event.
He will join three other British chefs from various parts of Britain, and compete against them in Madrid to be crowned the best curry chef in Britain.
Mr Chowdhury said: "My regular customers who travel to Spain have always said one thing they miss about the UK is their local curry restaurant.
"I want to treat them with the taste of British Curry they enjoy in their everyday life in Britain."
Festival Director Syed Belal said the event was a great way to celebrate the friendship between Britain and Spain.
He added: "It's an excellent time to enable those who live and work in Madrid and tourists to taste the foods they enjoy in their everyday life in Britain."
