MORE than 120 International students celebrated their graduation success with families and friends.
The 2009 International Students’ Award ceremony was held at the University of East London (UEL) Docklands Campus last Friday.
Lord Rix, chancellor of UEL, awarded degrees, diplomas and certificates to graduating students from over 40 countries and personally congratulated them.
There were seven outstanding achievement awards presented to graduates from different countries including Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.
Lord Rix said: “Today is a celebration of success for you, our international students.
"UEL is truly a global community and rightly renowned for its multicultural diversity as well as the quality of its academic programmes.
"I hope you will go on to succeed in your chosen careers and I wish you all the best.”
The awards ceremony was followed by afternoon tea at the Aqua East Students Union cafe.
