A FESTIVAL for young people has been held at a Leyton primary school.
Downsell School, in Downsell Road, played host to the annual Langthorne Youthfest, which was attended by about 2,000 people.
The event featured music, sport and dance, as well as a guest appearance from TV and film actor Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje, star of Lost.
There was also a selection of entertainment, including showcases from local schools and youth groups.
Youthfest director Sue Burns said: “We hope everyone who came along enjoyed themselves, and I would like to thank all those who helped.
“I know it was hot, but it proved that the area’s community spirit is alive and well.”
Youthfest was supported by organisations including the South Leytonstone Area Development Association, and the Cathall and Cann Hall Safer Neighbourhood Teams.
