THE dangers of driving under the influence of drink or drugs were witnessed by school pupils during a road safety presentation.
Members from national driving school RED Driving School talked about road safety with the aim of reducing the number of accidents on Britain's roads when they visited Chingford Foundation School.
Their hard-hitting talk led by the company's school's road safety officer Andy Milne, left a lasting impression with many of the pupils.
Nigel Armsby, head of year 12 and 13, said: “Andy's visit to our school today has been incredibly powerful.
“The impact of the road safety message was clearly visible on the faces of our students, which I'm sure will stay with them for a very long time.”
Mr Milne's presentation today (Thursday) exposed students to both the pleasures of safe driving and the powerful consequences of driving while under the influence of drink or drugs.
It also focused on the dangers of using a mobile when at the wheel and driving at excessive speed.
RED Driving School has commissioned a road safety simulator, which has visited over 150 schools and colleges nationwide to reinforce the road safety message, which can be tailored depending on the audience.
