A LEYTON woman is to release a single in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.
Eleanor Bennet, of Dawlish Road, a professional care worker and aspiring actress, will release comedy track We Wipe Bums with an official launch on July 13.
Miss Bennet said: “It's very much a fun thing and a positive thing – it expresses particularly the wisdom that older people have to offer.”
The self-penned song is taken from her one-woman show, Off Her Trolley!, which she performed at last year's Edinburgh Festival to critical acclaim.
“Next year, I'm going to the Edinburgh Festival again and at the moment, I'm looking for sponsors,” she said.
“I'll be taking Off Her Trolley! and a new one.”
And Miss Bennet also plans to undertake a charity Guinness World Record attempt next year – by building the world's tallest toilet paper tower.
“It's difficult to explain the reason unless you've seen the show – they're not exactly a theme but toilet rolls are present in it,” she said.
“It's been approved by the Guinness Book of World Records and I've got a venue in Reading.”
The CD launch is to take place at the Leicester Square Theatre, where Miss Bennet will hand out rolls of toilet paper with the song's lyrics printed on them.
She said: “People will have to unwrap the toilet rolls, which will be fun. I'm doing that and giving away various other promotional materials.”
Miss Bennet is also hoping the song will be given radio airplay and both Radio One and Heart FM have been invited to the launch.
“I would also like to do a run at the Leicester Square Theatre,” she said.
