THE Ongar rotary club is inviting the stars of tomorrow to find their voice at their annual “sing out challenge”
The competition is more about fun than fame and all singers will be given equal time to perform for a panel of judges.
There are four categories in the competition taking place in Budworth Hall, High Street, including: solo singers, groups, school choirs and other choirs.
The challenge will also raise cash for the “Frank Collins memorial trust”
Frank, known to many in Ongar as the former manager of the local Midland Bank, passed away 18 months ago.
The trust has been set up to remember Mr Collins, known by his nickname “Frank the Bank” and his lifelong love affair with singing.
The winners will get the chance to show their skills at the popular “Saturday Evening Showcase”
The contest takes place on the 12 July and 19 September.
Entrance fees are £7.50 for individuals, £15.00 for groups/choirs. Entry forms are available from 01992 524526 and must be in no later than Monday 31st August 2009.
