THE sentencing of a man who stole a safe from a South Woodford Charity shop has been postponed until tomorrow after a prison failed to release him.
Roy Saville, 39, of Goldings Road, Loughton, was due to appear at Redbridge Magistrates court this morning after pleading guilty on June 20 to a burglary at the Children's Society charity shop in George Lane.
Mr Saville was arrested on Friday, June 19, when residents called the police after hearing the shop window smash.
Mr Saville was caught with a portable safe containing £250 which was kept in the back room of the premises.
Sentencing was not given today after Pentonville Prison, where Mr Saville is being held, was not issued with a warrant for his release.
Mr Saville is expected to attend the court tomorrow.
