ALLOTMENTS received a revamp when volunteers built raised beds for disabled gardeners, rebuilt the communal compost bunkers and redecorated the shed.
The volunteers from the Community Service Volunteers borrowed tools from committee members of Hoxton Manor Allotments when they visited the site in Chingford Road, Chingford.
The Forest Recycling Project gave the volunteers free recycled paint and Fourways Plant Ltd delivered scaffolding boards and the council provided pallets for the event on Friday, July 10.
A Hoxton Manor Allotments spokeswoman said: “The work done on the visit has made a real difference to our allotment site. We are looking forward to using the newly decorated community shed for our next children's activity and the improved bunkers are already keeping the compost material tidier.”
