DOG owners in Waltham Forest are being warned that failure to clear up dog mess after their animal could lead to a £1,000 fine.
Under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996, new powers have been given to local authorities which include the power to designate poop scoop areas.
If land is designated under the 1996 Act and people fail to clean up after their dog, they can be prosecuted and be fined up to £1,000.
Blind people are exempt from any possible fine.
