A SILVER jubilee celebration took place this week when a baby and toddler group marked 25 years at the same venue.
The Butterfly Club was set up in 1984 by mothers Andrea Moles and Pat Perry, at Wesley Hall, in Loughton High Road, and has been going ever since.
Mrs Moles and Mrs Perry returned to their old venue for a celebratory party to mark their achievement and were presented with flowers as a mark of appreciation.
When it was first set up, the Butterfly Club cost 50p a week, and served around 25 youngsters.
It has gone on since then and was recently awarded the Good Practice Certificate from the Pre-School Learning Alliance, in recognition of its administration quality and commitment to health and safety.
Current group leader Julia Walker said: “We are delighted that we have passed and hope it will set the standard for the next 25 years.”
