SHOREDITCH Park will be alive with colour, music and performance from Friday, July 17, as the annual Shoreditch Festival takes over once again.
The free festivities begin with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in concert, plus a spectacular fireworks display, and continues on Saturday with a midday parade, dog show, tea dance, poetry, film screenings and much more.
The second day of the festival will also see a stellar line-up take to the main stage, including the LSO St Luke’s Community Choir, dance trio the Twighlight Players and the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, who recently supported Blur at Hyde Park.
On Sunday, The Barbican Centre, Guildhall School and Shoreditch Trust will come together to present World In Motion Day – a day created by young people for all people, featuring live music, dance and film.
Highlights include the cream of hip hop dance talent, Blue Boy Entertainment on the main stage, and Moleque de Rua, who mixes traditional Brazilian music with rock and hip hop. Elsewhere, Diverse City present two shows in the Dome and a selection of short films will be screened.
The festival will be brought to a close on Wednesday, July 22, with the Shoreditch Games from noon.
