Re-mixed, re-invented and re-packaged, a host of urban performers will present new collaborations that defy musical genres in a celebration of creativity for Re:Definition, at Stratford Circus next Thursday.
Presented by Urban Developments, a Stratford-based youth organisation specialising in professional development, live events and education, the show promises to be a “musical excursion taking collaboration to a new level”, that will see homegrown talent such as Ghetts, Leon Jean-Marie, Roses Gabor, The Thirst and Marvell showcase their work with kindred spirits from across the musical divide.
The evening will also feature unique performances from UK soul legend Roachford, pop maverick MPHO, drum ‘n’ bass songstress Jenna G and UK funky dons Crazy Cousinz, plus support from a live band. Re:Definition, which runs as part of Create Festival ’09, will also feature a screening of a short film inspired by the project.
Re:Definition takes place at Stratford Circus on Thursday, July 23, 7.30pm. Tickets: 0208 279 1080 (£8-£12). For information on Urban Development visit www.urbandevelopment.co.uk
