GRADUATION day can always be an emotional occasion, especially if you are under five years old.
But Matilda Baines and Ralph Bartlett also left Fidgety Fingers pre-school, in Hastingwood, with a spring in their step when they became the first two youngsters to successfully pass through its doors.
The pre-school, in Willow Place, formed two years ago and Ralph and Matilda are the first youngsters to leave.
They were given special certificates and allowed to make their own cap and gown for their graduation ceremony.
Pre-school owner and manager Jackie Neagle said: “The pre-school opened two years ago and it's already really flourishing and doing really well.
“Matilda and Ralph have been a joy to teach and we'll miss them so much.”
Matilda's mother Niki Baines said: “Matilda has gained so much from her time here and the opportunities for learning, and range of activities she has experienced are excellent. She couldn't be better prepared for school.”
