A LONDON-WIDE 24-hour strike by postal workers has begun.

The industrial action, called by the Communication Workers Union, is being held due to anger among staff at proposed changes to pay and conditions.

A spokesman for the union said: "The current cuts, bullying managers and ever increasing workloads on a shrinking workforce cannot continue.

"Pressure and stress is at breaking point for postal workers so we urgently need a fresh start for a modern Royal Mail."

But the Royal Mail argue changes have to be made because of the declining amount of letters posted by the public in recent years.
