TWO employees working at nursing homes have been awarded for their efforts to help the people they care for.
Dimple Jose, a nurse at Ashbrook Court nursing home in Sewardstone Road, Chingford, has been awarded a Heart of Gold award for her care and compassion.
She received 99 nominations which contained numerous heartfelt messages of thanks and praise.
One read: “A smile to light up the day! Dimple is always smiling and her care towards my mum is second to none. She has a kind, calm, manner her patience is endless and I know that mum is extremely fond of her. My mum is always happier when Dimple is around.”
Domestic assistant Gayna Brown, who works at The Spinney nursing home in Forest View, Chingford, has also been given an award.
One of her nominations said: “Gayna is a very kind, supportive, caring girl who's always ready to help anyone whatever the reasons, with a smile on her face.”
Carebase, a company which owns nursing and dementia homes for the elderly, runs both Chingford homes.
Members of the company have decided to hold the Heart of Gold Awards annually to recognise the contribution staff make.
Both winners received a Tiffany heart of gold neckless or an Armani watch, a bottle of champagne, and an etched glass plate.
Ms Jose was presented with her award on Wednesday, July 8, while Ms Brown was given her gong the day after.
