A CANCER charity is calling on people in Waltham Forest to help raise funds.
Macmillan Cancer Support will be holding its annual World's Biggest Coffee Morning event in a bid to raise nearly £10million and is seeking support in Waltham Forest.
Last year, a total of 68 coffee mornings held in the borough, raising more than £13,000.
This year, Macmillan is hoping to raise £20,000 in Waltham Forest to help fund cancer services, including specialist nurses and doctors, as well as grants and advice.
Fundraising manager for north east London Rebecca Steadman said: “The help we provide people with cancer is absolutely essential and we want to be able to give support to everyone who needs it.
“That’s why we need to raise more from this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning than ever before.”
The event will take place on September 25 with coffee mornings across the UK.
