A series of educational fun days are set to take place in Epping Forest from this week.
Aimed at all the family, the Eco-Summer scheme at the Epping Forest Field centre in High Beech.
Youngsters aged 4-11 are invited to join a number of two-hour Safaris through the forest to learn various outdoor skills, including pond dipping, shelter-building and taking part in forest art.
Older children can take part in the week long Eco-summer scheme - which hopes to teach them more about the forest around them.
Family groups can also get involved, with a “Pondering Ponds” drop in day on July 28 where they can learn about pond life.
For insect lovers there will also be a special Minibeasts day on August 11.
Want to explore the forest a bit more, but worried about getting lost?
The New Navigators Family Course, on August 14, will teach you how to use a compass and guide yourself on a trail through the forest.
All activities have various prices and start times, to find out more contact the Epping Forest field Centre on 0208 5028 500 or by emailing enquiries.ef@field-studies-council.org
