THE end of their primary school years was marked by children at Moreton C of E school in Ongar with a performance of Bugsy Malone.
The prohibition-era tale of Chicago Mobsters with their custard pies and splurge guns was performed in front of a delighted audience of parents and staff at the school in Church Road.
Proud parent, and PTA member, Liz Barber said: "It was a very good performance, especially for the year six class, who've just finished their exams.
"The parents seemed to enjoy it too, and it can be quite emotional for staff, when you’ve seen them come into reception class and see how they've matured.
"They all seemed to enjoy themselves and even kept their American accents going for quite some time."
