A SERIES of events to celebrate parks and green spaces will be held at Lee Valley Park venues throughout next week.

The celebrations, which are part of national Love Parks Week, kick off on Saturday and Sunday with the Lee Valley International Horseball Cup, at the Lee Valley Riding Centre in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton.

Horseball is a team sport played on horseback, the action takes place from 10am to 4pm both days and is free.

Renowned wildlife photographer David Cottridge will be delivering a course in digital photography from 10am to 4pm on Staurday and Sunday at the Waterworks Nature Reserve in Leyton.

The course costs £35 for one day and £60 for both days, call 08456 770 600 to book.

Next Wednesday (29) at 10am there is a free walk on Walthamstow marshes, while next Thursday the Chapterhouse Theatre Company will be performing Romeo & Juliet at Waterworks Nature Reserve.

The performance begins at 7.30pm, tickets are £12, call 8988 7566 to book.

On Monday, July 27, the Lee Valley Ice Centre will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with a day of skating at 1984 prices to 80s music.

Visitors can skate for just £2 between 11am and 1pm and 1.30pm to 3pm.
