A SECRET bunker set in woodland is being used by police dogs and their handlers for training.
The nuclear bunker built in 1952 at Kelvedon Hatch was created for central government in the event of a nuclear war, and was opened in 1994 for members of the public to visit.
Police community support officer Moira Kennedy, who patrols the area, contacted the owner of the land , Mike Parrish, suggesting it could be used by the district police for dog training.
Dog handler PC Amanda Pollard has used the site with police dog Quincy and said: βIt's a fantastic area to take the dogs with huge scope allowing for various training scenarios.β
