Players are invited to a special charity football match held in memory of a sporty young man from Ongar who passed away last year.
Chris Copp, 27, from Woodland Way, died on August 11 after a five-year long battle against Ewings Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.
The 11-aside match had been organised last year by Chris and his closest friends David Spencer and Alex Miles to raise money for his travel and treatment.
Although he had planned to kick off the competition between the two teams, sadly, Chris was re-admitted to hospital where he died the day before the match.
It was his wish that players carried on with the match and that all funds raised should go to the Ewings Sarcoma Trust.
His family and friends turned out in force to support the match and raised over £1,100.
Chris' family have decided to continue the game to raise money for the Ewings Sarcoma Trust.
The 2009 Copp Cup will start at 10:30am at the Fyfield Village Hall Playing fields on Houchin Drive.
The entrance fee is £10 per player, to take part please contact Alex Miles on Alex_miles@hotmail.com.
