PUPILS and staff are celebrating a massive improvement in their exam results.
Year 6 pupils of Chingford Hall Community Primary School in Burnside Avenue, Chingford, recently achieved 95 per cent overall in English and Science, and 90 per cent in mathematics in their SATs exams.
The results were a cause for celebration for the school which two years ago had been one of the lowest achieving schools in the borough.
At that time, Year 6 pupils achieved just 37 per cent in English.
Headteacher Pat Davis puts the success down to a number of new staff being brought in.
She said: “All the staff are very pleased. We have put in a lot of intervention and teaching and learning has improved.”
Mrs Davis said that after school and lunchtime sessions had also been introduced to help pupils' progress.
