A PROJECT helping vulnerable people in Waltham Forest is looking for volunteers.
The Reaching Out Project based in Warner Road, Walthamstow, provides a range of services for people who are alone, isolated, disabled and elderly in the borough.
All the recruits are trained and can expect to carry out a variety of tasks to help people. These include befriending, making daily telephone calls to make sure residents are safe and well, providing information and advice, and helping with gardening and small household repairs.
Residents wanting to volunteer some of their time will be given the opportunity to choose how they would like to help.
Volunteers can either work from the office, go out into people's homes or provide more specific services such as reading to visually impaired people.
For more information to volunteer or if anyone you know might benefit from Reaching Out, contact Kirsty Taylor at Disability Action, 1A Warner Road, Walthamstow, call 8509 0812, minicom 8521 4287, or email reachingout@dawf.co.uk.
