A FOOD growing group urged people to volunteer and offered produce at a residents' association meeting.
OranicLea would like assistance with keeping bees, growing grapes for wine, composting and the creation of a fruit orchard at their plant nursery in Hawkswood Crescent.
It also has a community allotment site with a forest garden and bees.
Nicole David, a member, said: “What we do has a social element to it. It's about people as well as plants.”
Residents attending a Drysdale and District Residents' Association meeting today (Tuesday) heard how OrganicLea sells food at a market stall, box scheme and cafe at the Hornbeam Centre in Walthamstow.
It also runs a cropshare scheme which allows other growers to sell their naturally grown surplus produce.
Those attending were able to buy produce at the end of meeting.
