A FREE microchipping service is being offered to dog owners.
As part of the council's Borough Action for Responsible K9s (BARK) campaign, owners can have their dogs implanted with a microchip with their name and address on it.
The scheme is aimed at making it easier to reunite lost dogs with owners.
Microchipping is being offered free of charge at the Leytonstone Aquatic and Pet Centre, at 625 High Road on July 29 between 1pm and 4pm.
To take part, collect a registration form and appointment slip from the Leytonstone Waltham Forest Direct Shop, at 819 High Road.
Forms must be collected by 6pm on July 28 and will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
Dogs will not be microchipped unless the registration form and appointment slip are presented.
