INTREPID youngsters from Caterham High School scaled the highest mountain in Wales during an action-packed geography field trip.
A group of 40 GCSE students from the school, in Clayhall, spent five days in Snowdonia studying its natural features.
The trip's highlight came when the teenagers reached the summit of the 1,085m high Mount Snowdon - after a mammoth seven hour climb.
The five day visit also saw the teenagers don waterproofs before wading into the River Conwy to collect research data and testing out their map reading skills in the nearby town of Llundudno.
The group stayed at the Drapers Field Centre in Betwys-y-Coed during the field trip - which has been used by the school for the past two decades.
