COUNCIL contractors have been rapped for parking illegally, including in disabled bays.
A total of 833 penalty charge notices were issued to contractors and councillors have called for more action to be taken as they say the practice is still going on.
The notices were issued to contractors working around the borough over the last five years, cabinet member for environment Cllr Bob Belam confirmed.
He said: “Contractors should adhere to the rules of the road just like the rest of us.
“These notices will have been upheld and contractors will have had to pay for them.”
The notices carry a fine of up to £100 each.
