A TEENAGE thief has been banned from leaving his home at night after he stole a mountain bike from a garage in Woodford Green.
Police chased the 15-year-old through the streets of Woodford after the break-in at a home in Monkhams Avenue.
The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty at a hearing of Redbridge Youth Court and was sentenced to the 90-day curfew order.
Until October 19, he will be electronically tagged and must stay at home between 7pm and 7am every night.
A private company, Serco Monitoring Limited, will keep tabs on him during that time.
The burglarly happened on Monday June 22, but he was only sentenced last week (Thursday June 23).
The teenage thief will also be supervised by a youth offending officer for the next six months.
Police have not disclosed where he lives.
