WOMEN who took part in the Cancer Research Race for Life event are being urged to return their sponsorship money.
More than 3,300 women took part in the Epping Forest event at North Weald Airfield and organisers are hoping their efforts will help to raise £230,000.
Event manager for Epping, Lucy Hynes said: “The atmosphere on the evening was electric. It was incredibly emotional seeing all the t-shirt signs showing why women were taking part – in memory or celebration of a loved one or to mark their own cancer journey.
"And it was also remarkably uplifting to see so many women come together for one cause, to beat cancer.
"By taking part women pledged their support to help fund research into a disease that one in three people in the UK will develop at some stage in their lives. Now we are asking them to keep that promise to help Cancer Research UK continue its life saving work by returning their sponsorship money as soon as possible.
