A BRAVE mum-of-two who overcame her battle with breast cancer is to take part in a charity race to help raise funds for research into the devastating illness.
Andrea Field, of Cheriton Road in Woodford Bridge, hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for the Breast Cancer Campaign group by tackling the five-kilometre long Adidas Challenge race in London's Hyde Park this September.
She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, but fought through her ordeal to make a remarkable recovery - although she still has to return to hospital for regular check-ups every six months.
Ms Field, who is running for the charity's Guardian Angels team, said: “I have had the most wonderful care and treatment both from family and the hospital and feel very lucky that I am a survivor.
“I will take part to raise as much money and awareness as possible and look forward to being part of the campaign’s incredible team raising awareness and funds.
“It will be my honour to wear the Guardian Angels wings and run for women like myself, those less fortunate and for the future women affected by this disease.”
