SCOTT Curd and Amy Di-Salvo are delighted with their new roles as head boy and girl at St John's Primary School, Buckhurst Hill.
The Year 6 pupils were elected towards the end of last term and say their new responsibilities really are fun.
Amy, ten, said: "It's great because we get to take part in a lot of different things, like when we introduced the whole school to the Bishop of Barking (the Rt Rev David Hawkins) and Scott did a Bible reading."
Scott, ten, said: "We have to listen to people and lead the school council meetings, which is interesting."
They also enjoyed helping at a parents evening for the High Road school's new reception class. Amy said: "It really was fun."
Both pupils are enjoying their final year at St John's and looking forward to attending secondary schools in the area.
